I like Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief book more than the movie because the movie was too different.  Things were totally missed too.  For example, Percy’s sword always returns to his pocket if he loses it in the book, but in the movie he just leaves it on the ground and in the next scene it has returned to his pocket with no explanation, this was disappointing as I thought this was quite cool.  The god Ares is mentioned only once in the movie, and only because his children come after Percy, but in the book Ares is a major part of the plot.  In the book there is a really awesome battle scene between Percy and Ares and this is a disappointing omission.  Another example is that in the movie here is no mist, which in the book is meant to stop the mortals from seeing magical stuff…

Also, in the book, it takes its time to explain things, whereas the movie threw you in immediately, giving you no time to adjust to the alarming amount of strange happenings that could have been fun if you weren’t just sitting there thinking “What the heck?”.

In case you haven’t picked up on it yet, I don’t like the movie. Everything is just so……weird, like in the Harry Potter movies where none of the characters look how you imagined them to. If I hadn’t read the book I still wouldn’t like it because it doesn’t give you long to take in the demigod thing and it’s all slashing and hacking and telling not very funny jokes.

That’s all. Edan. Almost 12
